Dragoș Gavriluț was born in Birlad, Romania in 1979. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, Faculty of Computer Sciences in 2004, his Master of Science degree in optimization theory from the same university in 2006 and also his PhD diploma at the same university, in 2012. He joined Bitdefender in 2005 as an anti-malware researcher. Today he is an Antimalware Research Manager and is in charge of more than 50 people in two offices. His main research concerns the theory of machine learning, malware detection, vulnerability and exploits, Android and mobile malware, compilers and operating systems.
